Abstract: The research sought to investigate the subjectivity of adolescents in digital culture and the way in which neoliberal educational public policies affect the subjectivity of Brazilian youth. Priority was given to identifying whether Education has considered the new forms of subjectivation of adolescents when developing public educational policies for them, discussing whether this includes a project of an emancipatory society. The study took up the contributions of Theodor Adorno, on education in its broad sense, that is, an education for life as a project to think about an emancipatory and democratic society, as well as his contributions on the "Cultural Industry" and its influence on the formation of subjectivity, which are sustained mainly in Freudian psychoanalytic theory and in Marxist contributions on commodity fetishism, alienation and the social organization of work. Seeking to intertwine education, psychoanalysis, culture and politics, we walk the path of subjectivity formation from the sociocultural changes arising from capitalism, neoliberal ideas and the advancement of information and communication technologies (ICTs), more specifically from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The study also explored the social construction of adolescence, seeking to understand the constitution of adolescents' subjectivity, in a historical materialist construction based on questions about: mass society; individualistic ideal; culture of narcissism, spectacle and the body; consumer society and influence of advertising media, highlighting characteristics of the imaginary industry in super modernity. Secondly, the research brought relevant content, demonstrated by UNESCO, on the subjective dimension of young people and their relationship with the education system at high school and school dropout in Latin America. UNESCO's data and content are part of a broader purpose, which is the coordination of the 2030 Education Agenda. Law nº 13.415/2017, enacted in Brazil in 2017, and the scenario around the proposed changes for the new high school, based on it, were also analyzed. The investigation showed how public policies in relation to secondary education in Brazil have considered the subjectivity of young adolescents based on neoliberal rationality, expanding existing social inequalities. In this sense, it goes against what we could consider an emancipatory society project, according to the contributions of Theodor Adorno. In this context, the discursive change in neoliberal public policies and the social discursive helplessness produce new modalities of social bond, marking a condition of uncertainty and anguish that contribute to the discomfort and psychological suffering of adolescents that materialize in various symptomatic manifestations, whether in the school environment or in other social environments, which we seek to analyze from the point of view of Psychoanalysis.
