As classes integrais no colégio estadual do Paraná na década de 1960: uma inovação educacional no ensino secundário paranaense

Abstract

This work have for its goal the analysis of the organization of the Integral Classes of the Colégio Estadual do Paraná (CEP), one of the proposals for pedagogical innovation of the Brazilian high schooling system made during the final years of the 1950 decade and the middle 1960 decade. Locating the experience developed in the state of Paraná, among the other initiatives of national reach denominated Experimental Classes, are evidences of some peculiarities of the Integral Classes, stressing the contributions which had as goal the meeting of the necessary demands for the transformation of the high school, specially for the democratization of the access to this level of study and the need for it be no more an exclusivity for the more rich classes. The main quest for this investigation is answering how the integral classes were created in the time window from 1960 in the Colégio Estadual do Paraná. Its general goal: To analyze the organization of the integral classes on the Colégio Estadual do Paraná, the 1960 decade. Its specific goal: To investigate the genesis of the “Integral Classes”, to know the character of the teachers who acted on that time, on the CEP, and to analyze the methodology adopted on the Integral Classes. This research, with a historical approach, and a qualitative, bibliographical and documental nature, will have as its main sources: the legislation – laws and regulations –, the school documentation – regulations, reports, teaches’ testimonials, oral or written, students’ testimonials, and also the relevant bibliography. For its theorical foundation will be studied authors like Amado (1973), Abreu (1963), Franco (2013), Campos (1931), Chagas (1978), Veiga (1992). Although they worked on the general premises of the Experimental Classes, it was verified that on the Colégio Estadual do Paraná they had some peculiarities like: the importance given to the “study of the middle”, as a tool to better understand the reality of the study object. The extracurricular activities were another tool to amplify the learning received on the school class, as by means of the sports clubs and other clubs formed on the School, the students hade a fuller experience of the learning and the institute of citizenship.
