A educação física escolar no CEEBJA professor Odair Pasqualini: perspectivas de uma prática intramuros

Abstract

This dissertation investigates Physical Education practices at the Professor Odair Pasqualini Youth and Adult Basic Education Center (CEEBJA in the Portuguese acronym), an institution that assists the inmates of the state correctional facility in Ponta Grossa. The main aim of the investigation is to analyze the conceptions of Physical Education that support the pedagogical practices at that institution. In order to carry out the analysis it was necessary to consider the conceptions of Physical Education present in the official documents that guide the pedagogical practices of mainstream public schools in the state of Paraná. The research included bibliographical, document and empirical studies as well as a focus group interview with students of the institution studied. The research demonstrated there are conservative and critical conceptions of Physical Education as well as different proposals in the school Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) as well as in the pedagogical practices; this theoretical ecletism demands knowledge, comprehension and awareness so that teachers can act according to the needs of the inmate students. It is expected that this study supports future reflections about Physical Education in correction facilities, in particular at the Professor Odair Pasqualini Youth and Adult Basic Education Center, so that new pedagogical perspectives within the walls of correctional facilities are foreseen.
