Abstract

Introduction: The bond formed between therapist and user plays a fundamental role in sustaining and maintaining the therapeutic process. The relationship between them underpins the referral of clinical speech therapy work, providing opportunities for the movement of resignification of complaints and symptoms. Objective:. To understand the therapeutic bond's role for speech therapists who work clinically. Methods: The dissertation was developed based on two articles. The first article sought to understand what scientific studies produced in clinical speech therapy and assume and highlight the therapeutic bond. Therefore, a systematic literature review was carried out, in which appropriate word combinations were selected and adjusted, to carry out a bibliographic search in the following electronic databases: EMBASE, Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS). ), Livivo, PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Web of Science. For gray literature, the following bases were used: Google Scholar, medRxiv OpenGrey, ProQuest Dissertation, and Thesis. The second article sought to understand the therapeutic bond's meanings for clinical speech therapists. A primary survey was carried out with speech therapists, registered in the Speech Therapy Council of the 3rd region (CRFa 3), which covers Paraná and Santa Catarina. Data collection was organized around a semi-structured questionnaire, specifically designed to respond to the research objective. Results: The systematic review of the literature, developed in the first article, pointed out that among 47 scientific works found in the first phase of the bibliographic search, only four addressed the implications of the therapeutic bond in the speech-language pathology clinical practice, indicating that such a bond promotes an improvement in the quality of life. life and communication skills, enhances motivation and therapeutic engagement, in addition to expanding the social participation of users. In the second article, the therapeutic bond was considered, from the point of view of speech therapists, as a basic prerequisite for the design of the therapeutic process, capable of helping the user in the resignification and/or overcoming of their symptom. Final considerations: the therapeutic bond is considered an essential element for the execution of the speech therapy clinical work, as it directs, sustains and expands the therapeutic possibilities.
