Distúrbios da deglutição em pacientes portadores de doença renal crônica

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical alterations and non-nasal artery laryngoscopy of swallowing, the patient with chronic renal disease (CKD) with and without hemodialysis, examining the control group. METHODS: 30 patients were found, 10 with CKD on hemodialysis (G1), 10 with CKD without hemodialysis (G2) and 10 without CKD (G3). All groups answered to a screening of swallowing complaints, performing a clinical evaluation of swallowing and an instrumental evaluation through nasopharyngolaryngoscopy examination of deglutition. RESULTS: G1, a group of patients with CKD in dialysis, had a significant difference in relation to the other groups, in relation to the presence of cigarettes with a pudding consistency of 10 ml. G1 ,is a statistically significant analysis for the penetration of laryngeal and pharyngeal residues into liquid, nectar, honey and pudding without volume of 10 ml, and a pudding without volume of 5 ml. Regarding the Maximum Phonation Time and Vocal Quality, G1 presented values that differ in relation to the other groups. CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that patients with Chronic Renal Disease on dialysis are susceptible to have swallowing disorder, with changes in clinics and on the nasopharyngolaryngoscopy of deglutition examinations when there is a control group of patients without a chronic kidney disease.
