Da educação à revolução: a perspectiva marxista de transformação social por Bogdan Suchodolski

Abstract

This research analyzes the thinking of Bogdan Suchodolski, a Polish intellectual and Marxist theorist, on the role of education in social transformation and the formation of working-class class consciousness. Based primarily on the work "Marxist Theory of Education" and the perspectives of other debaters on the educational issue from a Marxist perspective, Suchodolski's pedagogy raises a research problem: how does the Polish intellectual Bogdan Suchodolski, from a Marxist perspective, conceive of education as an instrument of social transformation and overcoming the contradictions of the capitalist system? Seeking answers to this question, the research establishes the following specific objectives: 1) to problematize Bogdan Suchodolski's life trajectory, labor process, activism, and political action; 2) to investigate the influence of Marx and Engels' theoretical (historical-materialist) conception on Suchodolski's educational theory; and 3) analyze the relevance of the ideas developed in Suchodolski's "Marxist Theory of Education." Using dialectical historical materialism as a method, the research examines the relationships between education, labor, and class consciousness from Suchodolski's perspective, highlighting his contributions to the formulation of a critical and transformative socialist pedagogy. Given the severe processes of commodification and precariousness in public education in Brazil, the research concludes that Suchodolski's educational conception contributes to the contemporary debate on critical education and offers indispensable insights for the renewal and expansion of Brazilian public education policies.
