Redes sociais significativas e a promoção da saúde de mulheres de um projeto comunitário

Abstract

This research aimed to identify and check the significant social networks and the interface with the promotion of the health of women in a community project. Three women who participated in a community project were interviewed in a city in the countryside of southern Brazil. A qualitative research design was used in order to have the possibility of observing, analyzing and ordering data that help in flexible planning. For data collection, the following instruments were used: narrative interview-a roadmap to know the narratives of women in the Community project: the first contact, the activities developed and the changes in life; Network Map-This is an instrument developed by Sluzki (1997), which consists of representing the social network of the individual through a map divided into four quadrant: family, friendships, work or school relations, community relations and work. The map is divided into proximity circles characterized by close relationships, social relations and known relations. The map indicates the meaningful relationships of the person and helps the analysis of the structure, function and attributes of the links; and socio-demographic questionnaire-to collect information about women (marital status, family, education, income, social reality of the neighborhood) and identify their social and demographic reality. In the narrative interview, we used the analysis based on the data through the thematic coding system, and the network map sought to analyze the structure, function and attributes of the bond. The results of the research are presented in three articles. 1) Health promotion in the context of significant social networks; 2) Narratives of life histories of women in community projects; 3) Women in community projects: significant social networks and health promotion. It was found that the community project exerted an influence on women's empowerment for the development of potentialities through knowledge generating work opportunities, which enabled income generation, protagonism and Health promotion. In the network map analysis, women have significant links with family, friends and the Community project. The results of the articles allow us to understand that the significant bonds (family, friends and community project) have developed health promotion through emotional, material, cognitive, and income-generating support that have promoted actions for the Strengthening of the protagonism and autonomy of these women. These results can help to understand the importance that the Community project can contribute to the work integrated with the community, and to recognize the significant bonds for social transformation and the strengthening of individuals To cope with their adversity.
